The St. Petersburg Astronomy Club, the center of Florida family astronomy, where the women
are strong, the men are all good looking, and the children all get "A's" in school, enters the third
millennium as the largest and oldest astronomical organization in the southeast United States.
SPAC, Inc., consisting of 381 adult members (502 with children included), has been meeting
continuously since 1927, and in 1979 was incorporated as a nonprofit, tax deductible organization.
SPAC, Inc. is dedicated to promoting the science of astronomy and the hopeful education of the
public.
The club meets on the 4th Friday of each month at 8:00 pm at the Science Center of Pinellas
County, 7701 22nd Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL (just west of Tyrone Square Mall).
